Hey there, I have a year old Gaming laptop with a 1070. (MSI-GT62VR RE)
Now I have experienced some blue screens but not often enough to say there's a hardware problem.

One thing I have noticed recently like the past 2 weeks, I would be looking through YouTube, scrolling through Reddit threads, or just normal google searches. nothing too demanding.
My fan on the left side (which is my GPU fan) will be at a really low rpm and then suddenly spike up and right back down again. and it will happen i'd say around 6-12 seconds apart. There is a setting in my Dragon Center where i can choose whether my fan speeds are at auto or at a fixed speed, but that didn't seem to help, or maybe I'm not using the right software for the fan controls. Anyway ill add some pictures below to show you guys what I mean. I've tried looking for answer whether its good or bad or even how to fix it, but can't find one.

Pictures with auto speeds-

Rpm spike: https://imgur.com/a/6hijC

(You'll find the RPM speeds to the far-right middle next to GPU.)

Pictures with fixed speeds-
Rpm normal: https://imgur.com/a/y3LZY
Rpm spike: https://imgur.com/a/OAnLE
(Notice there is no GPU usage, and these screenshots are taken seconds apart.)
I just think its unusual for any of my fans to be doing this as it has never happened before.
Thanks!

Solution
Have you checked the temps? If they are high that would explain the fan speeds. If they aren't, then you may need to replace the fan(s). They don't last forever. :)

NOTE: If the laptop is under warranty, be sure to contact the manufacturer about the problem.
