Graphics card (future proofing)

I'm thinking about buying the 1060 6gb version I'm just wondering for how long could I get away with using this card for high settings 60fps gaming? Can it last me at least 2-3 years?

In 3 years? Games don't develop that quickly... Plus you can always lower graphics quality if necessary.

He requested high settings at 60fps unless he is playing at 720 it is 2 years but otherwise it is going to be tough.

if you want high settings after 3 years you'd need 1070ti at least at a guess (and it is a guess. who knows what new gimmicks/bad optimisation will be around in 3 years)

if you're happy with dropping a few of the shiniest settings from high to medium (Anti-Aliaising etc) then the 1060 will last 2-3 years with 60fps

all this is based on you playing at 1080p by the way.
