The y500 sli component is the gt 750m, and yes it will perform better than a 650m.

The 750M has a lower TDP and higher clocks, so yes it would be better than the 650M. 650M SLI would yield more power than a single 750M, and 750M SLI would be even more powerful than dual 650Ms.
