GTA V laptop and overheating

I've laptop, Acer Aspire E 15, i bought cooling pad and i want to download gta v but im afraid of overheating. I saw people on YouTube playing GTA V without cooling pad. Do you think that it can harm my laptop if i play it?

If the laptop overheats, they yes it can harm the laptop, mainly the battery, cpu and gpu. This game is very optimised for all kinds of laptops. I would play the game at the lowest settings and work your way up until you have found a setting that is right for you.

Yes, i've got it on steam. Does laptop have overheating protection?

It does, it will throttle the cpu and gpu down and increase fans. If this fails, it will shut down the laptop.
