Hello,

I've Lenovo Y50 laptop with core i7 4720HQ and GTX 960m installed

I get frame drops from 60 to 40 or 50 a lot while playing games

This is the monitoring using "Open Hardware Monitor"

As you can see, there is a lot of drops but I don't know why.

I installed FurMark and ran it, this is the results:

There is no drop at all

So what is wrong?

This Happens with all PC's during gaming, Different scenes run different FPS depending on detail

It's a laptop 960m so it won.t be great as a gtx 960 desktop in performance. 40 -60 FPS is fine, your eyes wont know the difference, Reducing quality settings can certainly improve FPS but i would be happy with this. Laptops are never as powerful,
GeForce GTX 960 Passmark benchmark score 5,973 vs GeForce GTX 960M 1.575 . I game with fps showing in the corner live and it varies heaps depending on what the game is doing My desktop graphics does 200 fps - 30 fps online gaming bf4 and all other graphics cards do the same, they vary

No, it's noticeable. It looks like the game has stopped for a second and so on.
But now I understand that it's normal to get some frame drops at certain scenes.
What I was wondering is that this gpu is able to achieve more than 60 FPS in these games, but it does some lagging at some point. That what was concerning me.

Lower your in game quality settings to low and you may run smoother but it's the 1575 passmark score that's why the game struggles to run smooth, this game needs a better card to run well. Seriously laptops are not true gaming replacements for desktops. Heaps of desktops struggle on these latest games, especially your games
