Sad enough is that's what all major corporations are doing. Looking for good cheap labor to let go after their subcontract work is completed. Props to the guy who pulled it off and if he was a hard worker like they said, I highly doubt he will have any trouble finding work elsewhere.

I work in the technology field as a high level administrator. I have watched it happen for many years now. First the American government allowed American companies to outsource level one support over to india. Now level two support is being outsourced and you can start seeing level three support going to india. Do not think for once that I do not know what I am talking about because I am watching it happen to me at this very moment.

America has no technology industry anymore. It has no manufacturing. It has no agriculture and all you hear about are how companies are laying off tens of thousands of people all the time.

As "We the People" we fucked up a long time ago by turning a blind eye to all of this.

Everyone complains about the greed of corporate America and how we are selling ourselves down the river. But how many of you who are complaining shop at Walmart or Target instead of going to a local store and paying more for made in America products? How many of you all eat at McDonald's, or Burger King, or KFC, or whatever big-name fast food company rather than eating at a local diner (where, actually, the food is better and not really more expensive)? These companies are publicly owned and traded. They must answer to their stock-holders, as it should be. And the stock-holders invested in them to make money. I'm not going to berate them for that. That's not to say that there aren't a lot of soulless companies out there. Working in the corporate world really sucks because of the mindless automatons that end up in positions of authority. The truely creative and innovative people are the ones who end up leaving to start their own companies, and the cycle starts all over again.

The bottom line is this: if you're a vehement anti-corporate person, then work for a small company, or start your own company, and do business only with other small companies. If you continue to shop at Walmart and eat at McDonald's all while preaching the downfall of society because of these same corporations, then you really just need to sit down and STFU before you choke on your Big Mac.

That's why andedhdffnvvh, I chose to enter hardware support/onsite repairs. You will always need someone onsite to deal with users PC's directly and general port swapping, etc on servers.

Although in 10 years, all technology and production jobs wont be in India, the vast majority could be in Africa. Unfortunately Indians have got too greedy financially, without boosting their infrastructure adequately.

Many manufacturing jobs are alrready being ported to south africa among other countries in africa with an adequate infrastructure and that will grow in time.

Keep that attitude and what you say will come true. What America has going for it is the fact that everybody wants to come here. I'd say a good 1/3 of the EE department at my school are foreign students.

People are very quick to call out on our country's faults, but few provide a solution. We've been given a blessing despite our lack of tech industry, manufacturing, and agriculture as you said. So as a high level administrator what are you sir, going to do to fix our problems?

I agree bill gates is your daddy! I to work in the IT field and have seen huge amounts of jobs sent overseas simply because it's cheap labor. Fire the dedicated employees and move one is their mentality. Then we wonder why is this recession so hard to get out of? No jobs in the U.S. means we don't spend. Should be a law against sending our jobs across our borders.

I work in IT consulting and one of my companies revenue streams is to fix the boondoggle that Indian programmers create. I've never seen such a lack of creativity from a group of people. They program by the book and while that sounds good, rarely do companies need solutions that are "out of the box."

I might start believing you if I EVER encounter an Indian programmer, analyst or support technician that actually leaves me with a good feeling after a call.

I have a friend like you that is all gloom and doom but I have a clue for you, this isn't something new and it's inevitable. Globalization is a reality and unless we start marking up massive tariffs and punishing companies for hiring outside of the US we can't stop it. The good news is as the standard of living rises in India/China it'll will become financially sound to bring the jobs back here. I have no worries about my newborns future because in 20 years that will have become a reality.
