Blah blah blah. They don't have the $$ to make/purchase the satellite; they don't have the $$ to get it into orbit; they don't have the $$ to maintain it; and they need how many satellites & ground stations for coverage? Dream on. Besides, if they traffic in copyrighted material, they too would be shut down and that would be a really expensive failure!

Due to government inefficiency it would cost more for a government to shoot down then it would cost for the hackers to put up in the first place. So at least you will eventually bankrupt governments worldwide who try to take pot shots at your floatin box, good job guys I am sure you can get plenty of money for uncencored internet and there are rocket kits out there for about 8,000USD that will put a small satellite up. But we should really just round up all the politicians and make expamples of them they have outlived their usefulness by a long shot.

[citation][nom]sieged[/nom]Grow up .. no one is forcing you to purchase the internet. Internet access is a want .. not a need.[/citation]
Um, considering I work in the software industry, I think the industry itself is forcing me to purchase a subscription. Lest I want to look like a 60 year old geezer.

Really guys you should be positive about it and support. There will be no shooting down or ten new will come and the shooter revealed to the world population. The control of the virtual world got to stop here and now because its already the twin bro to mind control.

LOL, all I can say about your post.

Better yet get all these hackers and hack into the supporters of SOPA/PIPA to expose their finances. We all want to see just what money that they have receive4d to support these disgusting Bills.

I think this is a great idea. Will it ever happen? Who knows. But I think that a lot of people are missing the point. This isn't the latest gaming network, unlimited kinky porn exchanges, or hacking but for the free exchange of ideas without censorship. News that has not been tainted by the media or a government agency. Would I be willing to suffer through outages and 10Kbps connection to get unfiltered news from another corner of the world. You bet! The internet we know today started out the same way.

Not desiring to place a dampener on the concept or on people's enthusiasm, although a truly free and open Internet is a great idea and very much needed to counter the control, manipulation and extortion tactics of the general world paradigm that we see increasing exponentially, knowing human nature as I do I truly wonder for how long such an Internet would remain free and open.

[citation][nom]alidan[/nom]untill the laws against circumventing come into play. ------------that said, the internet needs to be censored. not for movies and crap being pirated, but because of cp, and i dont mean the kid got a digital camera and took a pic of themselves nude kind, i mean the adult molests a kid kind. granted sopa cant stop cp, and is an all around bad idea, but he internet needs some amount of censorship.[/citation]
This is simply way off base. Censorship is unnecessary. If you would like to not see child porn you have 2 options, don't go to the website, or close your eyes when it pops up. It's the same thing with TV and Radio, you don't like it turn it off. That being said Child porn is repulsive and should be stopped, but censoring the internet or any other medium on which it could be delivered is not the way. Obviously the internet is not syndicated the way movie theaters are so the mediums are not the same. It should be illegal yes but the means by which it is shut down are different, the point here is that the copyright (illegality) don't have to even be proved.
