PC games are fine to port to console, provided the game was developed on PC to start with.

To port a console game to PC is far more difficult, since all of the artwork requires up scaling to support high resolutions (and look half decent), and the fact that console are optimized to be threaded very specifically for their hardware, which introduces a whole pile of video device contention problems and threading stalls when you port it to PC.

For these reasons, Halo will never be ported to PC again. Halo 2 got ported, and it was awful for the above reasons.

[citation][nom]Mario75[/nom]Why you all want this piece of crap on pc? its overhyped by M$ and they n00bs shitbox owners,M$ simply milking those n00bs,just like Activision with they yet another "new" MW3.BF3 - thats the game,no mw3 and even probly MW5 will come close to this masterpiece, thats what devs can make if you give them freedom.halo...halo who???[/citation]

This is the second time iv seen you post on here. What are you like 5 or something? God i hate Consoles for what they have done to PC gaming too but your posts are just embarrassing mate.

[citation][nom]Crazy Hitchhiker[/nom]Man I hope they actually release this for the pc...[/citation]
Nah. MS is too proud of their Xbox to release it on PC. Halo 2 is the last game in Halo franchise we PC gamers will ever see.

[citation][nom]JOSHSKORN[/nom]I refuse to buy an XBOX 360 just to play Halo 3, ODST and Reach...and now Halo 4 apparently. PORT THE DAMN GAMES TO THE PC! LET US FINISH THE FIGHT ON THE PC! UGH! Won't DirectX 12 be out by then, anyway? I'd rather see a very polished Halo 4 than another crap console port to the CRAPBOX 360. I'll take DirectX11, even if v12 isn't out by then.[/citation]
Well, then add Gears of War to the list too.

[citation][nom]nameon[/nom]@ scook9, thats not true, i played halo 2 in win 7 64 ultimate with no system instability.and yes i wouldnt mind if ms started porting those other great halos (all of them) to PC but i understand why they wouldnt, PIRACY, i should know i have atleast 100 games (releases from 2006 to 2011,not forgetting halo 1 )[/citation]
That piracy thing is an excuse. They simply want to keep it exclusive. Piracy is rampant on consoles also. It is the greed of the developers and their overly restrictive DRMs that have led people to pirate more. Talk about the DRM Ubisoft used in Splinter Cell Conviction, or talk about how the developers have started to ask same price for PC games as for console games. PC games are supposed to be cheaper, because there is no royalty to be paid to any manufacturer.
