PC's are the only way to go. I have two PS3's...for media servers. The PC is not more expensive either. I get all my games off Steam when they have good deals, JC2 for $25, Borderlands with all DLC for $20, etc etc etc. I've saved so much on games, it paid for the computer!

Stupid console gamers just don't get it. I've even gotten pre-orders of a bunch of games, usually for at least $10 off, the PC price, which is $10 off ANY console price. Stupid console gamers......

Wow, I really don't understand what MS is doing with crappy xbox and games... I'm pretty sure the red ring of death will show it's ugly face around again pretty soon.

I'm so glad I'm not a console slave.

chill on the insult throwing .. you make the rest of pc gamer's look bad you rich pansy , and yes a gaming pc is still more expensive than a console , a budget gaming system can run you about 500-600 bucks atleast that is excluding the price of an OS and monitor which quickly make that budget pc , about 700-800 easily (monitors being priced around 150-200 and an OS being about 100-200)

and here youa re calling people stupid because they can only afford 300 bucks instead of, 700-800 bucks.

and before you go calling me any names , i'm a pc gamer myself , just hate seeing A-holes insult others becuase of thier lack of money, you make the rest of us look like degenerate rich a-holes. so go sit on your your rig.

now on a note to all you guys talking about the RROD , perhaps less of your systems would have died , if you hadn't been glued to it 24/7. i have a 360 as well as my pc , my 360 is a jasper model from 08 i've played on it moderately (play heavy on it at times but not at all at other times) and i have yet to see one case of RROD,however , if you sit non stop on a gmae system even a pc eventually stuff starts to wear out , hell, my computer which i built myself currently has two dying fans on it as i type this . now i'm not trying to insult any one or say you don't havea life (god know i have little room to talk i spend most my time on my pc)( , i just find it hard to beleive any one that plays only lightly or moderately could have gone through 6 xbox's. that said if you have indeed gone through 6 xbxs and even paid for half of those xbxs , then i'd say ,that i'd have to agree with the guy above , and maybe you are a stupid gamer period. cos for the price of 6 (or even 3) xbx's you could get a really sweet pc that wouldn't break down on you (though cheap case fans would still wear out after a year or two)

but again i don'tfault some one for going with a 360 over apc , once ... but still 6 xbx's ??? makes no sense if your elaly ahve that much trouble with them.

I like how those of us on a higher plain of existence get thumbs down, just goes to show, the dumber you are the more you defend your wrong beliefs. Oh wait that sounds like I'm bashing religion...hum...

demonhorde, if you can afford $60 games, a computer is well within reach, look at the entire cost, not just the hardware.

You are wrong about hardware wearing out. All of my PC's are on 24/7 (mine and wifes, kids are on at least 8hr a day), they get relegated to wife and kids as I upgrade, still on 24/7. Never had anything but the occasional HD fail on me. Buy "good stuff" and it will last. XBOX's are not "good stuff". PS3's are only marginally "good stuff".

PC's are a better long term deal either way, for the cost of the next gen console down the road (and over priced accessories), you have your upgrade costs, and then some considering every game can be had for $10-$40 lower than consoles. It's really very simple economically speaking to see how it's a better deal. This isn't even including the fact that it's a full blown computer.

And if you can't afford a $600 computer but you can afford a $300 console, you either shouldn't have either right now, or you should learn to budget. Yeah I'm well to do, but I've ALWAYS had a gaming quality rig even when I lived in a 400 square foot apartment with my wife and first kid and only made 22k. I could still afford food even!

Cmons guys! pc gaming is great I myself own a great rig, but I also own consoles, they are quick and great for multiple people playing a madden game. There is a market for both set ups. To bash either side is dumb, to bash consoles is dumb my entire childhood was consoles and they had a great list of fun titles I still recall to this day. I occasionally turn on my xbox and I occasionally use my pc chill out with the bashing grow up

@demonhorde

In the long run consoles are always more costly then PC.

Imagine someone buying 20 games in a year. Thats a difference of 200-300usd in just one year.

Now make that 5 years and see how expensive console gaming really is. Add in the fact that consoles like Xbox charge for online. Or the fact that accessories are very expensive.

On a side note almost everyone has a PC these days. Any dual core PC from 5years back just needs a 150usd gpu to outperform a console.

IMO PC gaming is much cheaper then console.

very frustrating if you're all rev up to play and then "disc error".
that's when you realize how many curse words you know. but these
things happen with any optical disc media.

PC graphics blow away Xbox/PS3

I had never played PC games until I bought a GC off newegg for $130 Radeon HD5770 1GB! It will take a Playstation 5 to catch up to what I'm doing now with my gaming rig.

And MS and Sony aren't making a new console for a while so why not just buy a Graphics card

I played this game and it's not all that amazing.

Unfortunately for Bungie their graphics are still stuck in 2005 when the xbox first hit. I know their engine can do more but they were stupid in not sacrificing things like draw distance, and amount of AI, for smaller spaces that looked visually amazing.

Glad Bungie called it quits because this game needs to go to a developer that has talent with graphics.

He's referring to the $10-20 difference per game. Most if not all new Xbox 360 games go for $60 or more. Most if not all new PC games go for $50 sometimes less if you get pre-order deals. This doesn't mean that you get pre-order deals from Xbox 360 games, but I'm sure he's referring to the difference of 20 games over a 1 year period.

If you don't get any pre-order deals, than I'd say that most of the time you will see a $10 difference between Xbox 360 games and PC games (PC games being cheaper). This would equate to about $120 (on average) less for the same 20 games for the PC.

I find it pretty amusing how every time there is an article on toms that has anything to do with console games there are people like michaelahess who get all high and mighty and think they are better than any console gamer just because they have a high end pc. Whose place is it to say that PCs are better than consoles, or that consoles are better than PCs? Nobody. Nobody can say that. It's completely subjective. So shut up about how one is better than the other.

Personally I own a gaming PC, and all three major consoles of this generation. And I don't think I'm better than everyone else for being able to afford it. And I don't ever claim that one is any better than another. I choose which one to use at any given time based on what experience I am looking for at the time. And if I had to choose just one to have, I would probably pick !GASP! my PS3. Its not that I don't thoroughly enjoy my PC, I just spend more time on my PS3.

So anyway moral of the story is quit your ignorant jabber about how PC gamers are better people or whatever the heck you are saying and just do what works for you!
