Hard drive swap?

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad with a bad hard drive, and a Toshiba Satellite with a bad screen. Can I swap the hard drives? They're both close to the same age. The Toshiba has Core i3 and the Lenovo has Core i5. Does that matter?

The OS on them? Maybe not.
