I have an older rca model tv. My modem cashed and when I got a new modem I ended up with no picture on the older tv

You may be explaining things using the wrong terms, your "modem" would be for internet access, should have nothing at all to do with the TV. Did you get a new cable box? Is it hooked up the same way? May need some details about your setup, what is/was connected to the TV?
