today my internet browser started showing weird links, pop ups and started to install weird stuff so i tried to download some free anti virus program but my desktop internet stopped working. Atm im typing this through phone connected to wifi from that computer(is that dangerous?)

So i need to buy physical copy Anti virus program so i can install, use it to get rid of virus without internet connection

Which program do you guys recommend where i can buy from store asap that does not have to use internet right away? Retails that i have access to are bestbuy, and microcenter

I have nothing important in this computer so i can just do a format and do clean os install if i have to if that gets rid of the virus but if possible i want to save it by getting good anti virus to run

OK lets check for malware in the MBR first of all:

Download CCE from here: https://www.comodo.com/business-security/network-protection/cleaning_essentials.php Make sure you choose the right version 32bit or 64bit, depending on your PC.

Download TDSS Killer from here: https://support.kaspersky.com/us/viruses/utility

Goto this website and follow Part 2: http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/how-clean-infected-computer.htm

This should clean your MBR before we install Windows. What version of Windows do you have? Do you have your product key for it? Do you have the installation disk?
try booting into safe mode using f8 key. use safe monde with network support see if you can download avast or avg. hitmanpro see if you can remove the virus that way. if you can get online download firefox or crome make use you have adblock installed to stop drive by installs.

If you can re-boot the machine, get back into the browser and disable all plug-ins, addons & extensions. That might be enough to fix it.

Otherwise I wouldn't bother with the Anti-virus software, instead backup your data and re-install Windows. If you are really infected the Anti-virus software isn't 100% certain to clean it all up.

I thinks its more than just browser getting infected becuase now im seeing even bunch of programs getting installed on the computer and getting bunch of random programs when i look at it from control panel

Is anti virus program not good enough to get rid of it 100%? Is do8ng clean install only option?

It is unlikely that anti-virus will get rid of this infection(s). Anti-virus software is pretty good at stopping the infection getting on your PC but is not great at getting rid of it once it is there.

If you would like help to resolve this issue you need to follow the instructions and let us know what happens or if you have any problems.

You have 2 choices:

1. Do you want to clean the malware infections? This is a much slower process but you get to keep all your programs and data.

2. Do a clean installation of Windows. This is the fastest method and is guaranteed to remove all malware unless some is hiding in your master boot record (MBR). The downside is you need to install all your programs again and if you have paid versions the keys might not work. You will need your Windows product key for this unless you are running Windows 10.

Let us know what you want to do and we will can advise you on what to do next. Please feel free to ask questions if you need help with anything.

hey I think I want to do the clean installation so the there is better chance of getting rid of the virus/malware.
but MBR thing you talked about raises my concern little bit. if this were the case, what would i need to do after or before I do the clean install?
