having power issues with asus laptop k53e

I am having issues with my ASUS laptop there is no power. but when I started to try and figure out the issue, I found that if I hold the power cord at a certain angle in the power jack it will turn on. so now that I know it is the power jack I am wondering if I should just have the mother board replaced since I will have to take it to a repair shop.

Probably would be much cheaper to just have the jack repaired. If you can find a shop that can actually do it that is...

in reading other threads it seems to be a common problem with this model, I want to avoid over heating issues
