Question HDMI ARC does not work with other HDMI's plugged

I just bought a Sony HT-S200F as a replacement over my Toshiba 4k fire tv speakers. When connecting over ARC I notice it wouldn't work. I followed a suggestion online to do a power cycle on tv and speaker and to connect only the hdmi arc into the hdmi slots on TV. That worked great and then I plug in my remaining hdmi's and hdmi arc no longer works. Why is it doing this and is there a way I can get hdmi arc to work without having all my other hdmi's disconnected from TV? Please let me know

Couldn't say the exact model but it's a Toshiba 65" 4k Fire TV. Hdmi CEC is on and there is no other option that says ARC anywhere.
