HDMI Laptop to TV issue?

Ok so baffled here...

Trying to connect my Toshiba laptop (two years old) to a few different monitors/ TVs ie Sony Bravia (old model), brand new Sony Bravia (I updated the firmware last week) and a new AOC monitor. I am using HDMI )have tried 3 different cables so not the cable).

The laptop connected to all 3 devices at one stage but over the last few months have all stopped connecting at different stages.

I am getting a response when I plug the cable in the laptop from both the laptop and the TV but in the end it read "no signal"

I need help please, I am not a techie...I updated all my drivers on the laptop and as previously mentioned tried various cables and monitors but something is a miss.

Ps Prts and source all fine and display settings set to duplicate!

One issue to look at is the HDMI port on the laptop may not be working.

The other thing to try is to set the output resolution of the laptop to the native resolution of the HDTV. For 1080p it is 1920 x 1080.
