Hi all,

I'm looking to run an HDMI cable around my studio flat which is a length about 55ft/17m. Is it better to use an HDMI or a Cat5e/6 cable set up? I see that HDMI signals get dodgy around 50ft, but at the same time see reviews for 55ft cables saying the signal is fine - so wondering what is better?!

Thanks in advance!

The answer is both. You run a good quality HDMI cable as your main. Run 2 or 3 runs of Cat5e/6 as backups that can be your backup. If you can test the cable with your system before running the cable.
