Headphone splitter not working on pc

I have a sennheiser pc350 headset my asus S65CA laptop only has one port for audio and mic so I got a splitter and my mic is not working on the laptop I got the splitter from startech.
Please help I dont know what to do and this mic was like 200$

Hello there.

Have you acticated the microphone in Recording Devices? Right click on the Sound Speaker -> Select Recording Devices -> Select micriphone -> Right click and select as default device

If it doesn't work, then the Sennheiser need a custom adapter. You cannot use simply those startech.
You will need the original PCV05 or PCV07:

The splitter you got is definitely the wrong kind of splitter.
