The headphones are Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma's. They were great on Mac, PC felt otherwise...

Edit: Don't know what happened, but they started sounding better.

Why do you blame Windows right away? It's a specific issue to one PC. Now, what model of PC or motherboard if custom built? Does it still happen with default Windows driver (uninstall audio driver), or running an Ubuntu boot disk? As to the latter, you can download Ubuntu free, then run the OS from the CD without installing to a HDD by selecting "Try Ubuntu" at the choice screen.

If that PC has crackly sound even outside of Windows, that points to an issue with the audio hardware.

1. I assume you installed the PC drivers?

2. It might be an issue with your USB.

3. Latencymon can indicate an issue with your system (my dad's showed issues in W8.1 for which he had crackling/pops and it fixed when I updated to Windows 10).

4. No normal speakers work fine?

(I know you have USB headphones)
