Headphones touched usb port can't take battery out

Went to plug in the headphones in the headphone jack but accidentally went into the usb port (i normally have the mouse clip in the usb port but didn't that time) and the laptop turned off. i tried to turn it back on but couldn't. I can't take the battery out as need screws and that. Asus TP500L .. Please help! I'm not a computer genius or know much about computers.
