Headset Help!

I have USB headset (a MS Lifechat lx-3000) which works fine for gaming, but when I play music, I want to be able to plug my stereo system into the 3.5 mm jack on my computer's front panel.

Problem is, the headset drivers disable the audio jack. How do I make it so that I can easily switch between a headset and front audio jack?

double click the speaker icon on the desktop, that should bring up the audio controls, look in the audio software for the control settings.
You have a green jack on the back of the computer? The speakers can plug in there.
