Solved! Headset Mic Grounding Static

My headset mic has a constant static but it goes away whenever I touch a metal part of the case.

Touching the case is providing a ground (poor though it is) for the headset. I would guess there is a problem with your mike or with the laptop jack. A way to tell which would be to try another headset and see if the problem goes away. If it does, it's probably the headset, If not, it's probably the laptop jack. Note that I said probably. No guarantees!
