Help external problem!! How to retrieve a file because it got corrupted!

So i had a external which i had for long and so many important things that are stored in there but suddenly it got corrupted how do i retrieve the file? And also it got some shortcut files. Can someone help me cause i did try all of the basic stuff in the yt vids such as using the cmd, attrib something, and chkdsk so sorry but am really noob in this stuff

if the file got corrupted, there is no fix for that. Since it is a backup, do another one with the original to another external hdd
