Help, I can't update the BIOS of my Toshiba Tecra R950
Everytime I try and use the program to do so, it says

"An error occurred while preparing the update environment.
You have not given permission to execute the update."

I don't know what to do.

why do you wanna update the BIOS? Is there a different problem with the laptop?

2nd:
which program do you use to update the BIOS and which version are you using (Bios and tool)
which BIOS version is currently installed?

did you disable secure boot?
-> Go to the Security tab and set the „Secure Boot“ setting to „Disabled“.

Secure Boot is not an option, my laptop is a bit outdated for that
I want to install a new BIOS so that I can replace my i5 3rd Gen CPU

Hmm... I don't have one to burn and I can't use a USB, since that's not an Option
