Hi there - I was hoping you could help me choose which bridge camera I should buy - the Fuji Finepix SL240 or the GE X600?

GE X600 specs: http://www.general-imaging.com/x600/
Fujifilm FinePix SL240 specs: http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital_cameras/s/finepix_sl300/specifications/
The comparison:
Image Sensor:
Fujifilm FinePix SL240 has 1/2.3" CCD sensor with primary color filter
GE X600 has 1/2.3" CMOS sensor
Optical Zoom:
FinePix: 24X
X600: 26X
Movie recording:
FinePix: 1280 x 720 (30fps)
X600: 1920x1080 (30fps), 1280x720 (60fps)
Focal length:
SL240 : f=4.3mm - 103.2mm, equivalent to 24 - 576mm on a 35 mm camera
X600: 4.7 mm (Wide) — 122.2 mm (Tele), 35mm film equivalent 26 mm (Wide) — 676 mm (Tele)
Here is a side by side comparison of the X600 and an SL300: http://www.digicamdb.com/compare/ge_x600-vs-fujifilm_finepix-sl300/
The cons of the GE X600 are the slow start time and slow shutter response.
Maybe some of this will help you with the decision.

Thanks for that, Kenrivers :)
I had seen these comparisons but was hoping someone would just tell me what they would do - I'm a very indecisive person (....I think!!)

Thanks again,
Beth

If you want the ability to shoot HD video (1920x1080 @ 30fps) then go with the GE X600. If recording HD video is not important to you then it is kind of a tossup. However, the negative reviews about the slow start time and slow shutter response would make me lean toward the Fujifilm camera. It all comes down to how you are going to use it.
