Help me deck out my M11x

Just purchased a dirt cheap Alienware M11x, i3, 300gb, 4gb ram laptop in great condition. Battery and AC were included for $250 shipped. I have an SSD that I plan to install with win7, but what else can I do to improve performance. Not sure if an 8gb ram upgrade would even do anything on this laptop for general photoshopping and musical programs.

Actually, upgrading the RAM would help out a lot.

Make sure to install a 64bit win7, to make use of more RAM

will be installing win7 x64 on a good ssd, also will probably wait for black friday to get some ram for it.

Thanks! anyone think 16gb of ram would be overkill? I have a chance to get a very cheap set of used but mint and relatively unused 8gb x2 laptop memory sticks.
