Looking for an upgrade from my Lenovo x120E. Using for business, mostly as desktop (w/external monitor), but portability a consideration. Running stuff like browser/Outlook/Word/Acrobat simultaneously. Used is OK, prefer sub-$500.

Basic requirements/preferences:
* 13" screen (might consider a lighter 14" model, or 12/12.5")
* Hi-res (at least 1400x900, 1920x1080 ok of course!)
* matte screen
* Don't need touchscreen
* minimum i3 processor
* HDD fine, at least 320GB
* sub-4 lbs
* battery life not critical
* full HDMI port
* don't need an optical drive

Any thoughts? Open to used models 1-3 years old to keep price down. Thx!

I'd recommend the Dell latitudes or XPS. I use it for work, it remains stationary for most of the time, but when its on the move in the company It's a powerhouse. I am able to get 5-8 hours of battery life.

Dell's are known for great service and great machines, (business class only).

If you want more suggestions let me know!

Thx! Haven't used an XPS but it looks like a possibility. I also like the Lenovos (but my x120E is just underpowered and not quite enough screen real estate). I've used/owned a Latitude before--are the business ones a different line? Because the one I had was kinda bulky/plasticy, didn't feel solid.
