Solved! help me on how to connect my samsung smart tv to component

how will i connect my new samsung smart TV to my component as i tried RCA and optical connector ..how do i connect and also i am having a problem as live TV has no sound

is there no component in the back of the tv? if not do you have jack socket as you can get component to jack

It would be useful to know what your component is.
Check the TV audio menu. The optical audio output may need to be turned on, the TV internal speakers turned off (may already be off since you get no sound from the TV) and the audio type changed.
Check the manual for your "component". AV receivers often require you to assign the connection to an input (such as optical 1 to TV).

How do I connect my Samsung Smart Tv to my Sony Reciever STR-DE485E to get sound out of my suround sound. And what cables do I need

run an optical cable from your tv to the digital optical input on the receiver. I think it is on the left according to this image. https://goo.gl/images/mkpzzn

run standard speaker cable to the apprpriate speaker according to your layout i.e. left right front and rear. make sure the correct settings are selected i.e. optical and you should be good to go as this is an entry level amplifier.

Thank you that part is sorted. Now I need to know where I can get my receiver checked out as my front speakers output seems to have a problem as it is not pusing out any sound to my speakers. If I plug my front speakers into my the place where my centre speaker plugs in I get sound on them. What can be the problem?

are you sure you are going positive to positive and negative to negative. if so sounds like a dodgy socket. make sure there is nothing obstructing the connection in there then maybe take back to retailer where you purchased?
