My question for everyone is how important do you think having thunderbolt 3 is. i would like to have it for eGPU if I start gaming some again. Also how much difference is the core M vs the core I. would a core M7 be better than a core I3??

What of these 4 computers would you use? I am mainly using them for staffpad and marching band drill writing software. any other ideas for computers

thanks in advance for anything responce!

Solution
Core M CPU are less powerful than Core i3 CPUs. They are designed differently than Core i3 / i5 / i7 CPUs and contain much few transistors which translates to smaller, less expensive designed, lower heat output and less processing performance.

If you want to connect an external GPU dock, then you will need a Thunderbolt 3 port. Here's a video that demonstrates the Asus XG Station 2 with a desktop GTX 1080 . It basically demonstrates performance when using an external monitor and compares the performance of a MSI laptop with an internal GTX 1080. As mentioned in the video, performance when using an external monitor is better compared to using the laptop's screen.
