Solved! Help me. Verizon Contract switch to prepaid

Hello,
I have an iPhone 7, currently with Verizon but phone is not paid off. Service has been shut off for a few months. I can only use my phone on WiFi. I do not have service at all with Verizon. Can I just buy a new SIM card from Straight Talk, Talknow or Boost and have service?
I’m afraid if I try them my Apple iCloud would be disabled, or locked.
Has anyone had success with taking a non paid off phone, on contract phone to a prepaid service?

Yes almost 2 months ago.
But able to use WiFi, and the phone says Verizon next to the WiFi at the top. Cause it’s a Verizon phone (or sim)

No, I couldn’t afford the plan anymore due to financial issues.

Since it was under contract the phone is most likely locked to Verizon and will not work with any other sim card.

If I try putting a ST SIM card in my iPhone and it doesn’t work, and I put my original SIM card in and continue to use it on WiFi, would my Apple iCloud get messed up or locked?

It shouldn't affect your icloud account.

save your contacts to the phone before switching the SIM, if some are on the old SIM card:

Be sure no theft protection is set in your apple account. Disable this if you enabled something like that in your account
