so with all the new tvs being released in the next few months.. I've been trying to figure out the best for my gaming (60%) / movie (40%) needs. My biggest question atm is this motionflow technology sony has. I've narrowed the choices I want being either of the following:

ones a current 2013 model (and widely agreed upon amazing gaming tv)... the other a 2014 model. so.. one is 65".. but has motionflow 480. one is 55" and is motionflow 960. from everything I've read motionfloe 960 is amazing for gaming. but I can't seem to find any good comparisons made between 480 vs 960.

any help / ideas would be awesome!

we recently purchased a 120hz tv for the other room with whatever samsung calls their motionflow technology. the first thing we did was disable 120hz (using 60hz game mode now) and disable motionflow.

i prefer my old 60hz sony. no motionflow just the bravia engine. works great for gaming. 120hz also doesnt work for gaming because it causes lag. it also results in the soap opera effect look for movies and tvs. generally its only good for sports but it really isnt needed.

in the store the television didnt look bad at all however at home with motionflow and 120hz mode turned on it looked like crap. only after all of it was disabled did we even think about keeping it since it actually looked okay then.

just a few thoughts for you from someone who has been gaming on a lcdtv for a long time.
