Help! My Canon MP 160 prints blank pages

My mid 2009 Macbook Pro running El Capitan used to print to Canon PIXMA MP 160 from MS Word and Acrobat Reader and other apps. Now it just prints blank pages. I know the printer can still print because if I photocopy a page on it, it prints properly. I tried downloading drivers from canon europe website but still have the same problem. I Could use some help.

did you uninstall the printer software 1st before re-installing it? printer wired or wireless because if wired have you tried another usb cable?

Canon printers are REAN nuisanse for all OS except Windows! Try to download and re-install also latest firmware if it is possible, to refresh the printer's capabilities. I must tell that once a time, even these measures for my Canon color laser printer (sorry I can't remember its exact model now) did not take any result with Mac OS X.
