I NEED HELP PLEEEASEE

So I have a 2017 55inch 5000 series Philip 4k Smart TV. and I am trying to run it to an older (not super old) Yamaha surround sound system/receiver.

The model of my Yamaha receiver is HTR-5730. I have tried to run it using optical cables and reg red and white cables and I cannot figure out the settings I need to have it on or if it's still not compatible because maybe I need to be using my orange digital coaxel IN port on my receiver??

I have no idea, but my TV has an HDMI ARC port I can use also, but my receiver does not have HDMI hookup capability, and my TV is hooked up to my HD cable box which DOESNT have any audio outs..

PLEASEEEE HELP MEE!!

Solution
TV has optical audio output and receiver has optical audio input. Use those connections with a toslink cable.
You will need to turn on the optical output in the TV menu. You may also have to turn the TV speakers off and change the audio output type.
In the receiver you will need to assign the optical jack to an input. You can find the receiver manual here

You could use the TV headphone out but that would be inferior quality and analog surround sound only. No need to use both.
