Currently i'm setup primarily for gaming but i'm looking to further upgrade my PC into a HI-FI system as well, what exactly (other then high end headphones and speakers) will I need to accomplish this task?

My Budget is around $500-600 as I've already spent well over $1500 overall on this setup already.

Check the user reviews on newegg, or amazon, and you'd make an idea.
Another option for an entry level, let's say, would be a receiver/amplif and a pair of passive speakers with a subwoofer. For example:
an used AVR https://www.ebay.com/itm/Harman-Kardon-AVR-135-6-1-Channel-Surround-Sound-Audio-Video-Receiver/292376439233?hash=item4412fe69c1:g:giYAAOSwonBaLHIn with 6 channel analog direct input
a pair of front speakers like https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA7VT4PD9827&cm_re=dali_zensor_3-_-9SIA7VT4PD9827-_-Product
and a subwoofer like https://www.amazon.com/Polk-10-Inch-Powered-Subwoofer-Single/dp/B0002KVQBA/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_1?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1514421157&sr=8-1-fkmr2&keywords=dali+active+subwoofer

Looking at the audio part and assuming you are going via the big speaker route...
You will need power supplies, amplifiers and decent cables.
If you don't already have a decent sound card, you may either want to buy one, or instead buy a separate DAC that will convert digital signals to analogue ones.
If you are going for headphones as well, then all you really need is either a sound card or a USB DAC.

Some other things to think about are where the headphones and speakers are in relation to the PC. If you are sitting right next to it, I would think that a quiet computer is necessary. You could think about getting some low speed case fans, and manually setting them to run at low speeds unless you are gaming.

In terms of Speakers I was looking at the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 and Sennheiser HD 600 for the headphones. What are some good Receivers, Sound Cards (Internal or External) and DACs in the $200-300 price range?
