Help with my Hp Pavillion Dv7 laptop

Im making a new thread because I didnt get the right answers

I dropped my hp laptop and it kinda broke the charger frame on the side. I usually tape it but now I cant cause dc jack fell out and its cable fell out and Im trying to remove the frame (Like the frame where the keyboard is to put it back, How to I remove the frame? Is there a way to fix it without going to a repairer?

The thing is I feel like Im going break the frame

Is the charging port still attached internally, or did it completely fall out (unattached)?

Still under warranty?

If it's completely unattached, and if you're not real handy or familiar with a soldering iron or electronic components, I'd take it to a shop. It'd suck to brick your laptop because you touched something you shouldn't have inside, etc.

If it's not under warranty, I've found most laptop screws (holding the case together) are under labels and rubber feet on the bottom side of the laptop. Remove those, pop the cover off and repair the charging jack - whether that requires a soldering iron or simply plugging the cable back in. Be advised that removing the case will more than likely void any warranty.

As far as the case (I'm assuming that's what you mean by frame) being cracked - you may be able to find a replacement case somewhere on the web. If not, duct tape and caution would probably work pretty well.

Tear down instructions vary from one laptop to another, but you'll probably have to remove every screw on the backing of the system, as well as any under the battery pack (sometimes they are there to secure the keyboard). Once you do that, you can probably remove the keyboard and trackpad frame to get to the jack.

Just make sure absolutely nothing is connected to it while you service it. And ground yourself - especially once you expose the board and get to the jack, so as to avoid ESD damage.

It unattached and I mean like The back cant be removed Its like glue or something even with the screws removed. Im trying to open frame like this

I feel like its going to break if I do that If u need a picture of it I can get it

And is the cable attached to the charging jack still attached inside the laptop case? If so, chances are you won' t have to solder anything back together (ie. the charging jack to the PCB). Just stuff the cable back into the hole and tape/secure whatever you need to in order for the jack not to fall back out.

If it feels like something is still holding the case together, chances are you've missed a screw or two - typically laptop cases are not glued together, or to anything else. Feel through any labels you can see on the backside, bottom and top of your laptop case (top meaning keyboard area) - you should be able to feel a divot for the screw, after which you should pry up the label to get to the screw.
It's either a screw or a retaining tab - see if you can lift enough not to break the case, but enough to see the area still attached to get this answer.

I looked on U-tube and the charging jack is attached with a cord so the will be no need to solder. I have repaired several laptops including HP and you should be able to fix it with little problems. Just follow the instructions.
