i have a 2002 ford escort and i have 2 4ohm speakers in the rear of it, i was looking to upgrade to bigger speaker's but i only have 6 ohm speakers that are 6.5". is there a chance of ruining them if I put them into my car. the wiring is the easy part. just wanting to make sure that it can be done without ruining the speakers im putting in the car. if you can help me out send me a email at- Sam_Bruce159@hotmail.com

If your current stereo support 4 ohm speakers then 6 ohm speakers will work. They may not be any louder than the current speakers because the higher impedance means it takes more power to drive them.

You won't hurt the speakers.

thank you the speakers in it are old and cracking around the rim of it causing a loud ripping noise when i play music through them at a low volume. i dont need high bass in the carr because i dont much care for loud music due to already having slight hearingproblems, as long as they output sound then it would be fine. thank you for answering my question so fast.

You will probably have to tweak the front-to-rear fade to get the levels balanced.
