Helping Mom with TV

My Mom just got cable and internet. First time they said that they couldn't help hookup the DVD player. I came to visit. And tried but the problem is the cable is hooked up with a HDMI, red, yellow, white cables and the red, blue, green. The DVD player needs a red, yellow, white cables. I can't find a splitter that I can use and my mom said that if they just use the HDMI then the cable will go out. Please help me.

The cable box should be hooked up ONLY with HDMI. The other two types of inputs shouldn't be connected to the cable box.
