Hi..I can't get seem to get any sound out of receiver..

Hi guys..I can't get sound out of my receiver. Can anyone help..I have hooked up pioneer VSX-609 receiver to LG 49UH750v via optic cable.set tv sound options to internal +Audio Out (optical) and receiver is on Tv/sat but can't get sound out of surround speakers.only tv.

Look for TV setting by the audio menu, for PCM/surround, try both, and of course a specific TV setting that says, Use External Speakers.

On many AV receivers you have to assign the connection to an input ( optical 1 to Video 3 for instance) in the receiver input set up menu.
