I have acer travelmate p notebook. When I switch it on it says Default boot device is missing or boot failed. Insert recovery media and hit any key. So how do I solve that? It doesn't have a slot where I can insert CD.

Have a look inside the BIOS/UEFI if the boot priority is set correctly.

You can boot with an USB flash drive. Use the windows media crceation tool to create a bootable flash drive and boot from it. Try repairing the notebook with it.

But most likely the notbook is defective (SSD/HDD) inside the notebook. RMA it.
