Hi I have an acer and every time I turn it on it says preparing automatic repair then error code oxoooo185 and is asking for

Boot it from an install disk and do a startup repair. Since you didn't supply a model number or OS it is difficult to provide any more ideas for now.

If the startup repair RealBeast recommended does not help, you can try using a command line with the help of the install disc. Otherwise, you may be facing reinstalling Windows.

This is all assuming you have a Windows installation CD/DVD to begin with. If not, and you cannot access the OEM recovery, then you will probably need to bring the laptop to a technician to reinstall Windows or contact Acer for recovery media.

Since you didn't mention your OS, if you happen to have Windows 7, you can download an ISO and burn it to a full install DVD from HERE that will work with your activation key.
