That converter isn't required and is the wrong one anyway because if you wanted to connect the composite out of the HTS to an HDMI input you would need the reverse converter (they don't work both ways).
Since the HTS has composite video out and the TV has composite video in. Connect them and that gets video from the DVD to the TV. Won't look good as that's the lowest quality video output and not HD.
To get audio from the TV to the HTS you will need an optical to analog audio converter. Check the TV manual on how to use the optical out.
