They did it this way so they can sell their cases, and also prepare a second one with has a built in insulation trim.

That's like an electrician wiring a circuit in a house with a built in short, always tripping a breaker and then acting surprised when the inspector says, nope, it's done wrong, you need to do it again... but the electrician does a "fix"... which doesn't pass mustard or code, but hell, the homeowner can pay for a redo later...

The opposite actually, right handed people hold it in the left hand and touch the screen with the right.

We really have to cut Apple some slack here they probably would have caught this little hardware snafu if the guy they had testing the phone hadn't lost it.

And this people, is why Apple is the most profitable company in the world next to oil companies by percent revenue.

600,000 iPhones presold /
600,000 iPhones defective = 100 percent FAIL

600,000 apple iSheep buying iBand x
$28.95 profit = EPIC win for Apple.

since nobody else will wanna do the math, Apple will come up with 17.37 MILLION for selling these idiots not phones, but RUBBER BANDS!

ftw. and i cant afford a car.

Well they were hoping that everyone would just assume the lousy reception was AT&T's fault.

The iPhone 4 is shaping up to be a rare botched launch for Apple on nearly every front, as usually they deliver a well-refined (if outrageously overpriced) product. Sure seems to me like they rushed this one to market in order to preempt some of the Android launches.

Just think of it as a feature to keep your data usage down... or maybe just your wi-fi usage low and your 3G high.... extra revenue for cell providers. :p
