Looking to buy a laptop that can run light games like LOL, DOTA 2, and TF2 basically the games my younger brother plays. My parents was looking into buying one and I took the responsibility to go and search for one.


1. What is your budget?
$700 MAX Canadian

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
Any size.

3. What screen resolution do you want?
Doesn't matter.

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Kinda of both, but gonna be stationary.

5. How much battery life do you need?
Doesn't matter, this is gonna be like a desktop.

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Doesn't matter as long, as its playable. Meaning atleast 30FPS on whatever settings.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
MS Office, Browsing, light games.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
Either a big HDD or a nice SSD.

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
As long as its in Canada, won't do currency exchange with US.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
2 years or longer.

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
NONE, all digital.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
ASUS, MSI, Toshiba, brands that have good reputation and or good outer quality, since kids are using it.

AMD's A10 series APU will have a more powerful integrated GPU (but weak compared to dedicated GPU), but less processing power compared to an Intel CPU...

I'd like to know if Broadwell iGPU competes with AMD's Kaveri APU because I've heard a lot about Broadwell being an improvement over iGPUs from Haswell.

AMD's A10 series APU will have a more powerful integrated GPU (but weak compared to dedicated GPU), but less processing power compared to an Intel CPU. However, the AMD A10 APU will provide better gaming performance.
