Home Theater Receiver stopped working.

I have a Kenwood Home Theater Receier VR-414, it was my dad's and now mine. We haven't used for at least 6 years. A few days ago I cleaned it and plugged everything in, set it up in my room & I realized surround sound & sub woofer don't work. We waited for a couple of days and tried to make it all work again. My dad started to pinch all the remote buttons and now not even the front speakers work!!! Can somebody help me?

sounds like it is broken i'm afraid. It may be possible to change out the amp circuits, however, without further explanation, it is difficult to diagnose further.
