Hi everyone!

There is no sound coming out from my home theatre system when I am on a TV Channel.
There is sound when I try to play a CD/DVD.

There is only a USB cable connected between my TV & home theatre system.
From what I've heard, that USB connection is ARC ( something something goes bothways ).

I might have to get another wire but I am not really sure which one to get to make it work.

Below are the list of of slots available from my TV / HTS.

HOME THEATRE SYSTEM
•Aux IN ( Red , White & Yellow )
•Optical Digital In
•HDMI

TV
•Coaxial ( Red )
•AV Slots ( Red , White & Yellow )
•HDMI
•YpBpR2
•Y1(Green), PB1(Blue), PR1(Red)

Thank you for your time!

Solution
You can't use USB in that way in this type of setup.
ARC is for the HDMI connection from the HTS to the TV but they both have to have ARC and it needs to be turned on. If the TV has ARC there will be one HDMI input labeled ARC that the HTS HDMI out has to be connected
If you don't have ARC you will need add an audio cable between the TV and the HTS. Your description of the TV connections is not clear but the only connection that might be an audio out is the coaxial one. If that is a single RCA jack then you would need a coax to optical digital audio converter.

If you left out the headphone out of the TV you could connect that to the aux input on the HTS.
If not...

If not then you don't seem to have an audio out from the TV to get the sound to the HTS.
