Solved! Hoping my g-card isnt the issue

About a year ago i had purchased a laptop from cyperpowerpc, awesome computer awesome price.

i chose this compu for two reasons, gaming and working in 3dsmax etc.

my problem:
i cannot play games it resets/restarts everytime. I used to be able to play games i did reset the windows and since then i had problems and my compu gets hot.

i can work for hours on 3ds max and any 3d program. with no problems

i believe that my graphic card is damaged and overheats, but doesn't 3ds max use the graphic card heavily or no? are there more things to try to see if my g-card is damaged or no.

I remember being kicked out of games by my graphics card (screen goes black and windows said "graphics card has failed and recovered"). It happened because I installed Windows 7 on top on Windows Vista and forgot to update the graphics driver. Maybe you need to update your video drivers?

But your graphics card may also have gone bad. Can you tell us what exactly happens when you fire up a game (detailed)?

sorry for the double post i didnt know any of my posts post, had internet problems.

after i start a game any game it starts perfectly plays for a bit then it restarts the computer.
i do not get any graphic glitches or anything just boots. it doesnt matter what game (old low requirements or high requirements) or what settings i set the game on.

thank you for your help. i have also ran the rivatuner thing for nvidia or atitools, forgot which, but it will run the test for about 15 minutes before it boots.

I believe your graphics card is damaged. Are you using the proper drivers for your graphics card?

yea, i am i believe so to, i was just hoping there was something i wasnt looking at.

i will have to see what kind of card is compatible with my laptop

i reinstalled the same g-cards and played age of conan for about an hour and burn out so it was the g-card don't know why i had the same cards installed from the manufacturers website but it seems like all is go.
