Hello group,
I have an older Panasonic showstopper with lifetime subscription. When it
tries to connect at night, and when I try to connect manually using 243
zones, it says host did not answer. I checked the phone line when it is
calling out and the server at the other end of the phone line is answering
and it sounds like it is trying to connect. It connects once about every
150 tries. Any idea what might be wrong? The phone line sounds clean. Can
the modem be bad?
How hard is it to replace the modem? Can an off the shelf modem be used or
does it require a special type?
My unit does not have an Ethernet port, but I see postings about creating a
wireless bridge.
Will the unit accept a standard Ethernet card? or a wireless Ethernet card?
I'm sorry I don't know the exact model of the unit. If someone knows how to
pull up the factory info, I know it's a zones thing but I can't remember if
it's 411 zones or something else and I don't want to wipe out my unit
hitting the wrong code.
Thanks for your assistance
