I'm looking to buy a laptop at a 800$ maximum price, found these two dell laptops,

Dell inspiron 5577 gaming
Specs:
Intel Core i5 7300HQ
Nvidia GTX 1050
8GB, 1TB HDD
15.6 inch FHD display (not sure if it is IPS or TN, a help would be appreciated)
Amazon Linkhttp://
Price: 712$

Dell inspiron 7567 gaming
Specs
Intel Core i5 7300HQ
Nvidia GTX 1050
8GB ram,
1TB 5400 rpm Hybrid Hard Drive with 8GB Cache
15.6 inch FHD display (which I think is an IPS)
On Dell's website it is sold at 799$
While on amazon i can't find it with the same specs and with minimum price of 900$.
Link: http://

How is that possible keeping in mind that the 5000 on amazon series and the 7000 series on dell's website are nearly the same specs. And how can't i find the same dell's site specs on amazon?

Are there any better laptops in the same price range (800$maximum) that could offer me the same features (nice not intesive gaming, a future proof processor)

I need this laptop for college (computer engineering major), that's why I'm not building a pc instead, also I have already an AMD A6 chip laptop that is family shared and is 4 years old, so that's why I'm considering a new laptop. Am I doing the right thing here?

I'm not really recommending either. For the money it is decent. I suspect the 5000 series has a TN panel, but Dell doesn't make this clear in anyway. Same with most of the 7000 series models. They use the exact same wording. Usually they make a note of special displays.

You would have to check with the seller whether they are refurbished.

Some that are definitely refurbished from Newegg are a little more expensive, but you get a 256GB SSD. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA9SK62U1082

At this price point, even a little bit more gains you a lot. Closer to $1000 you go up a whole tier in GPU and SSDs are more common.
Coupon code from Dell right now for that first model (or close enough)

50OFF699 , makes that model 699 instead of 712.

Only real difference I see is the hybrid drive versus a standard 5400rpm drive. Honestly I would get that one and then invest in my own SSD to make it a decent laptop.

Also an i7 model with a GT1060 for only $900 available here: https://www.techbargains.com/

Great site for the coupon codes.

so are you recommending the 5000 gaming model or the 7000 gaming model?
and are these two models(that i posted their links specifically) refurbished or new?

The Dell 5577 definitely has a TN panel to keep the price low.

The Dell 7567 definitely has an IPS panel. It states that if you look at the configuration details.

Oh good, I was trying to track down that model and had similar problems to the OP. For some reason that second linked is flagged as an ad on this machine and won't load.

I have been comparing these two, URLs are included because there are many variations on Dell's website for these machines, the apparent differences are:
