How are these different?

After quite the lot of consideration I've reached these. I'll be using it for After Effects and I'm guessing these will be enough. Does 2 DIMM imply I can expand the memory to get 16GB RAM? Also, is leap motion or the energy star worth it?

It probably means that there are two sticks of 4GB = 8GB RAM

The cheaper has an external DVD drive, has a smaller screen, doesn't have an headphone-out/microphone-in combo... You could just read these things yourself since it says them quite clearly.

You can change the RAM if you so choose if that's what you mean.
