How can I access the blue keys?

I would like to use the French e with an accent but don't know how to access the blue letters-symbols on my Asus keyboard. I know it's probably simple and I did it by accident some time ago, but have forgotten what I did. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Alt, Shift or Fn keys, or possibly a combination of two of them.
