How can I get a hard copy of my contacts?

I'd like to make a hard copy of the contacts in my Pocket PC. Is this
possible? I don't sync with my desktop. (I don't even have Outlook on my
desktop.) (I think Microsoft really missed the boat, not putting printing
capability in the OS! My printer has IR capability, what a shame to waste
it.)

Your easiest bet will be to install Outlook, sync, and then you can produce
custom print outs to your hearts content.

Some/most(?) PDAs come with a copy of Outlook.

You can use HP's free Mobile Printing solution to add printing capability to
your PPC, IR, BT and network (WiFi or Ethernet). I don't think you'll be
terribly pleased though, since printing was not an anticipated option in the
OS, the programs don't have a lot of great printing support. As such you
will be able to print a Contact, but not a nice formatted, compilation of
them. I don't think any of the printing solutions add that sort of feature.

There's _always_ a way ;-)

How many contacts? (as clipboard memory may be an issue)

Just tested this on ten contacts and it works...

To test, tap/drag a number of contacts.

open the soft keyboard and tap <ctrl-c>

open a new document in pword

in that document, tap <ctrl-v>

You can select _all_ contacts and see if that works, but be patient as
it will take word quite a while to absorb the paste, then tap ok and you
will have a word document you can copy to a memory card, use ir to
transfer the file or email it to yourself.

If it chokes on all contacts, break them up into chunks and have at.

These copies will be in vCard format.
